Contemplating worth

You offer pleasure to feel loved,

But their touch doesn’t fill the hollow.

Freedom is treasure like a dove

Who doesn’t fear the temple of Apollo.

Too Scared to do what’s right,

For fear to lose it all.

As deep as new moon night,

You might just find a fall.

Without wisdom to plan ahead,

Love, shot, on the floor bled.

Though there’s not but one contender,

The day might come when I surrender.

Quiet reflection

A gun, a bullet, the end-

Silence, peace like no other

Sorrow only in the eyes

Of those we marked

by the flame of hope now extinguished.

YOU

You’re like a dream:

Beautiful, full of possibilities.

Yet, fictitious and elusive.

Their bodies are your vessel.

Glimpses of you in every kiss, touch and smile.

Different faces, different time,

But you remain.

Moving on

I can’t wait for the day

When I stop spending my nights

With the ghost of who you were.
